Cocktails at the Taste of Durango
If you are applying for a cocktail spot, you may need to know the following procedures and policies for the event in 2017.
There will only be 8 spots for cocktails in 2017. Cocktails slots are awarded based on the following criteria after being approved by the board: signing up in a timely matter and following procedure completely. Meaning that the first 8 restaurants who sign up and pay for a cocktail spot will be considered first, but you still have to follow all of the rules below. If you don't follow the rules, you will not be awarded a spot.
Cocktail slots will be awarded ONLY if you are serving an entree item at Taste of Durango. TO BE CLEAR: You must serve food and it must be an entree style item to serve an alcoholic beverage at the event. If you are not a full service restaurant, you may partner with another restaurant so that you are able to serve an entree item. This is the first year that items like popcorn, cookies, or cotton candy will not be sufficient to serve a cocktail. If you have questions- let us know.
All cocktails must use at least one ingredient from Colorado. These will be featured on Social Media and should be promoted through signage at your booth.
All participants who serve a cocktail must have a TIPS, ServSafe, or other alcohol certification for every staff member that is serving alcohol at the event.
These certifications need to be on-hand at the event and need to be submitted to the Durango Chapter of the CRA at by May 15, 2017.
Participants serving cocktails must purchase the alcohol served at the Taste of Durango through the liquor license obtained by the Durango Chapter of the Colorado Restaurant Association specifically for Taste of Durango.
